The Changing Table Debate

I know this probably seems a little silly but I am debating on whether or not to get a changing table. Here is why it is such a debate: the biggest reason I don't want to get one is they can get kind of pricy and I'm not sure I want to spend money on something I may not even use that much, especially when there are a million other things that we need for the baby. On the other hand, the room we are putting him in doesn't have a closet or anywhere to put his clothes and other baby stuff so I kind of need something for storage purposes. I have talked to several friends about it and most of them told me they never use their changing tables but then some of my friends love them and use them all the time. So what are your thoughts? Is it worth it to spend the money and have a cute place to store stuff and change dirty diapers or is it better to figure out something else for storage and just change his diapers on the floor? Also, if I decide not to get a changing table, what are some creative ideas for where I can put his clothes and diapers and other baby stuff?

Being Prepared

Over the past couple of months I have been really trying to read up on and follow conservative views of the up-coming election. I say "conservative views" because there is so much garbage in the media that it is hard to know what to believe. For many reasons, this election particularly terrifies me as far as what the outcome could be. Lately, I have been reading transcripts on glennbeck.com. I love Glenn Beck for lots of reasons and have listened to him because of Brandon for awhile. I think he is honest and I agree with his political views as well as his values (he is LDS). Over the past week or so he has written 3 different letters to friends and members of his family that he has shared on his website explaining the current economic mess we are in. The first two basically explain how it happened and what he thinks is coming but it's the third that I want to post a link to. It talks about what we can do to prepare for the future. It is such a great article and I felt like it would be a good idea to share it with as many people as I can. It is so important to start preparing for what may come and I guess I'm really feeling pressure because of our expanding family. It is a pretty long article but I encourage all of you to read it and consider the ideas he presents. It definately inspired and motivated me to try and be more prepared. Pregnancy Update

So I realized that I haven't updated my blog in awhile and that is really lame. Even more lame is the fact that we have actually done some fun stuff the past month and have pictures to post and I haven't taken the time to put them on my computer. First of all, just a little pregnancy update- I am now at 21 weeks! I can't believe I am half way done. It's weird because I never thought those first couple of months would end but now, looking back, it really has gone by pretty fast. We had our 20 week ultrasound last Monday. I love getting ultrasounds, it is so much fun to see him moving around in there! They confirmed the gender (still very much a boy) and just checked everything out. He is measuring exactly where he should be and everything looked normal and healthy so we were relieved and happy to know he is doing well. It's crazy how much he has grown in the past few weeks since we did the gender ultrasound. I am definately feeling him move around a lot more which I love! It is the coolest feeling. I am also feeling SO much better. I am no longer sick at all and I actually have some energy which is great! I'm finally able to enjoy being pregnant. It is such a crazy feeling knowing that in a few months, I am going to be a mom! It is the scariest, greatest, (did I mention scariest?) most overwhelming and exciting feeling ever. Honestly I've never been more terrifed or excited in my life. I'm so glad so many of you already have kids so you can give me some good advice because I'm going to need it! Anyway, I'll try and get some pictures up tonight of my ever growing belly and some of the ultrasound pictures we have of our boy. He sure is cute!
