Super Boys

This one is a little blurry but I love Brooks' face. And Hudson's double chin!
If any of you know Brandon, you know he loves all things Superman. My mom and I found these shirts at Old Navy and couldn't resist. I might be a little biased but they sure are cute! Also, here are a couple of newer pictures of both boys (just for you Grandma C)

He always makes the funniest faces.

One Month

Hudson is now one month old! We had his check-up on Friday and he now weighs 9 lbs 14 oz and is 21 inches long. The line on his weight chart goes straight up. At the rate he is going, he's going to be as chubby as Brooks was for sure! He is such a sweet boy and really has been such a good baby. The only time he gives us any trouble is at night - he's gotten in the habit of not wanting to go to bed until 2 or 3, which is not so fun. But as long as he's not hungry, he either just sleeps or looks around and chills. The boy definitely LOVES to eat though! It's no wonder he's gained so much weight because I swear that's all he does. I think my favorite thing though so far has been how Brooks has reacted to Hudson. He absolutely loves him. Brooks loves to hold him and give him kisses and lately he always wants Hudson to give him five. It's pretty funny and so cute. They are going to have so much fun together once Hudson is big enough to play with Brooks - I can't wait! All in all, we've adjusted fairly well. We still have our not so easy days but it hasn't been nearly as hard as I thought it would be with two. I sure love both of my boys and am so grateful to be a mom.

More Pics for Grandma Peggy

Mom, since your phone isn't getting pictures this post is just for you. Here are some new ones for you... sorry he's asleep in almost all of them!

Hudson definitely has his daddy's hair- or lack thereof. I think he looks so much like Brandon!

Brooks @ 18 Months

So I'm more than a little behind on this post because Brooks is actually almost 19 months now but he just had his check-up yesterday and I wanted to post his stats. He weighs 30 lbs (89th %) and he was 34 1/2 inches long (98th %). He is a tall (and heavy) boy! He is also the cutest, funniest boy in the world. There are so many things I want to document about him- I'm sure I'll forget a lot but I'm going to try.
-He is saying so many things now:
Ball & car are his favorites, fish, balloon, hi, bye, mamma or usually just MA!, daddy, mimi (grandma), papa, Coco (his little teddy bear), blankie, baby, people (he learned this at Grandma Peggy's house), cracker, thank you, please, yeah, no & nope, uh-oh, oh no, up, where did you go (it comes out whey go?), what's that, oh dear (I guess I say that a lot), wow, whoa, boo, circle, I love you, mouse, Melmo (Elmo), Barney, choo choo, bubbles (he learned that in nursery), pants, shoes, eyes, mose (this is nose- so funny), go, and hot (which he whispers)... I'm sure there are more but I can't think of all of them right now.

- He still jabbers like crazy and if you don't look at him while he's talking and pretend like you know what he's saying he'll come and stand right in front of you and get in your face until you do. So cute.

- He knows what a dog, cat, monkey, cow, sheep, snake, and lion say.

- He is obsessed with cars and has been for a long time. He will sit and push his cars around forever and say beep beep.
-He loves to play catch and is actually really good at catching and throwing. He also has a little basketball stand and loves to shoot hoops. He makes it the majority of the time. It's surprising how coordinated he really is.

- He LOVES to go outside and if he sees his shoes anywhere he'll bring them to me and demand that I put them on because he knows that means he's going outside.

- He is so good about holding my hand when we're out and about- and if he wants to go outside he'll come and grab my hand and walk me to the door.

- He is so smart - if he sees Thomas the train on tv he'll go get his little Thomas the train toy. If you ask him to say Barney or ask where Barney is he'll go pull out his Barney dvd. I love seeing him make connections like that!
-His favorite show right now is Fresh Beat Band. I have no idea why.

- He is so good about naptime and bedtime. All I have to do is ask him if he's ready to go take a nap and he'll immediately run to the stairs.

- He can show you where his nose, eyes, ears, hair, and belly are. Oh and his teeth too.

- He loves loves loves to wrestle with his daddy! He just loves his daddy in general. Every day when Brandon comes home from work Brooks starts running in circles just jabbering cause he gets so excited. It's pretty funny.

- He loves to cuddle. I never thought he would be like this because he's such a goer but he loves to come and sit on my lap and hold my hand and watch his shows on TV. I LOVE it.

- He is still super good about giving kisses- I love this too!

There are so many things I know I'm forgetting. I swear he learns so many new things every day. He's growing up so fast and it makes me sad but I am loving this age so much. He is so much fun and has the sweetest funniest personality.

* On a side note (mostly for grandma peggy), I have so many things from this summer to catch up on but when our computer crashed I lost all of our picture software stuff. So as soon as I get that stuff put back on I'll catch up.

It's a...

BOY! And he's very cute if I do say so myself. I'm still due November 20th, he's measuring right on, and everything looked good and normal. Such a relief! We can't wait to meet this little guy and I'm sure Brooks will be very excited to have a little brother.

So Behind

Wow, I'm so behind on blogging it's not even funny. In my defense, the past month and a half has been a little crazy since we moved across the country and all. We are finally all settled (well mostly) here in Charlottesville. It was pretty much a nightmare getting here but it was worth it. I'll do a post just on the move some other time but I'm not quite ready to re-live it just yet. We are loving Virginia so far though. It has really helped having friends out here already. They have done so much to help us get settled and to make us feel welcome- words can't express how grateful I am to all of them! Brooks is loving our new house. There are ceiling fans downstairs and in both bedrooms and he is in heaven! He also loves to up and down the stairs. I didn't love that so much at first but he's gotten pretty good at getting down them so I don't worry too much anymore. I've been so amazed at how well he has adjusted to being in a new place. He was pretty cranky for the first few days but other than that, he's pretty much the same. We did have to go buy him a bunch of new clothes when we got here. When we left Utah is was like 40 degrees every day and snowing so I only had warm clothes for him. Here in Virginia it was in the 80's and all I had for him was long sleeved shirts and pants. I felt so bad for him so we made a quick trip to Target and got him some cute cheap summer clothes. Anyway, we're here and we're pretty much settled and we are loving it. Last night we had dinner with Brandon's best friends from high school and their families. It was so much fun- especially seeing all of the kids playing together. Here are some pictures.

Question

I have a question for all you mom's out there. For those of you that had morning sickness during your pregnancy, did you ever take anything for it? Like Zofran or Phenergen? It has hit me earlier this pregnancy and last time I never took anything. This time though, I have Brooks to take care of. So far I haven't thrown up, it's just really bad nausea from the minute I wake up until I go to bed. I just wondered if anyone had ever taken anything that really helped with that.

Well...

Brooks is going to be a big brother! I found out on Thursday that I'm PREGNANT. I think I'm still in shock because it was not expected. I even took 2 pregnancy tests just to be sure. When they both came back positive, I cried and cried... and cried. I was so scared to tell Brandon. This was how I did it...

I was sobbing as he stood there and read the cupcakes. He turned around and, with a nervous smile, asked if I was joking. All I could do was shake my head cause I was crying so hard. So, he started laughing and came and gave me a big hug and a kiss and told me he loved me. The timing was horrible because we had decided the day before that we were moving to Virginia. We're still going. I'm nervous about everything but I'm trying to be happy and positive. I'm just hoping this pregnancy is a little better than the last.

Happy 1st Birthday Brooks!

I can't believe my baby is turning ONE today! This past year has gone by so fast and it makes me kind of sad. I keep thinking about what I was doing a year ago today and even though getting him here was the hardest thing I have ever done, I couldn't imagine my life without him.

Brooks, we love you so much- Happy 1st Birthday Bubba!

The Funny Faces of Brooks

The were all taken last weekend while my mom was up here. Some (like the one where he's wearing his hat and the one at the end where he's just in his diaper) I put on just cause he's cute but most of them are funny faces he makes when he sees my mom's camera. He just cheeses and poses like crazy every time she pulls it out. He's so cute and SO funny!

I Love This Boy

He turned 10 months old on 12/26. I can't even believe it. Here are 10 things about Brooks @ 10 months old:

1- He cheeses for the camera now as you can see in the picture above. As soon as he sees the little red light come on, he immediately gets the biggest chessiest grin on his face. So cute.

2- He can say Mom and Momma now. Everytime he says it my heart melts just a little.

3- He can wave Hi and Bye. He usually waves his whole arm up and down but then will see his hand and start opening and closing it too. He thinks it's pretty cool and will usually laugh and get excited when he does it. If he doesn't want you to leave he'll wave but shake his head no at the same time. It's hilarious.

4- He is obsessed with balls and pretty much anything he can roll around on the floor. He loves to roll them or throw them and then chase after them and throw them and chase them. This keeps him entertained for quite awhile.

5- He gives loves and kisses all the time. Mostly to his stuffed animals (his favorite is a little stuffed lion) but lately he's giving them to me and Brandon too. The best part about it is he will say "Ooooo" (I think it's cause I always say "oh, so nice to give kisses") as he's doing it in the cutest little voice. I love it!

6- He loves wheels. He has some trucks and a train and rather than push them along the floor he picks them up and holds them with one hand while the other hand spins the wheels on them. He loves it when is stroller is in the house and he'll sit and just spin the wheels on that forever.

7- Lately whenever he sees something he likes or gets excited about he growls. This is also how he gets our attention. He honestly sounds like a little bear cub or something. He has also started sucking in his breath and making a squealing sound when he gets really happy or excited and he laughs all the time.

8- He's doing much better with big people food. His favorite foods right now are blueberry waffles, banana yogurt, and gold fish crackers. He just loves food in general and has started not wanting bottles during the day. He still can't quite get the hang of a sippy cup but we're working on it.

9- He has started dancing when he hears music. He mostly just rocks back and forth but he gets this serious look on his face. If he's standing up and you tell him to dance he bounces his legs.

10- He loves playing with his daddy. He gets so excited when Brandon gets home from work. He loves Brandon to "get him" and he loves "getting" Brandon too. He's a tough little guy and loves to wrestle and have Brandon throw him around. (Don't worry, I make sure Brandon doesn't get TOO rough). Brandon can make Brooks laugh like no one else and I love it. All he has to do is look at him and he just starts cracking up. He sure loves his daddy!

This little guys is always busy and just crawls around like a maniac. Things have gotten so fun and I feel like he's learning so many new things every day. I can't believe that next month he will be a year old. Time has flown. We are so blessed to have this little boy in our lives. He is the sweetest, funniest, cutest, chubbiest, roundest, happiest little guy and we love every minute with him.
