My mom and I took Brooks to his 4 month check-up on Friday. Here are the stats: he weighs a whopping 18 lbs 9 oz (he's in the 97th percentile), he is 26 1/4 inches long (that's the 67th percentile), and his head circumference is 17 inches (that's the 90th percentile)! All in all, he's just a LARGE boy! He has even outgrown his carrier carseat- the straps are pulled out all the way and they still cut into his legs. Thankfully my mom got him a bigger one but the drawback to that is I have to carry him everywhere now. He is so much fun though! A few things about him at 4 months (sorry this is mostly for journaling purposes so it's kinda long): he loves to suck on his hands and anything else he can get his hands on including toys, blankets, his burp clothes, my shirt etc. He has gotten pretty good at being able to grab things and hold onto them. He loves his toys especially ones that make noises. He can roll over from his belly to his back. It's pretty funny to watch because he's just so roly poly. He still loves laying in his crib and watching his mobile. He loves getting dressed and undressed. He still loves his bathtime. He loves water in general. He has started getting kind of scared around new people that he doesn't recognize. He startles VERY easily and if he gets scared he usually sticks out his bottom lip and starts screaming. He likes his swing now. He has gotten a lot better about sleeping and will usually only wake up once in the early morning to eat. He loves to talk and jabber and squeal- it is the cutest thing ever! He likes to pull blankets and burp cloths up over his face- it's kinda weird but he does it constantly. He loves to stand up and he actually does pretty well with supporting his own weight. He loves his mommy and daddy, he has started to get so excited when we walk in the room, I love it! He is such a smiley baby and he's got the cutest smile in the world! He's got the cutest little laugh. He has been so good lately, he only really cries or fusses when he's hungry or really tired. Most of the time though he will just chill and play with toys which has been so nice for me. He has got the cutest little personality and we see more and more of it everyday. He is so alert and aware of everything around him and it is so fun to watch him learn new things. We love him so much and he brings so much happiness to our family. No one can look at him and not just smile. We feel so blessed to be his parents.

Playdate

Today Brooks and I had a playdate with Brooke, Aiden, Annie, and Asa. I worked with Brooke and Annie at Stewarts for a couple of years and we all found out we were pregnant within just a few weeks of each other. This is the first time we have all gotten together since we had our babies and we had so much fun catching up and seeing each other's cute boys.
Brooks, Asa, and Aiden. Aiden is the oldest by a month and Asa is a week older than Brooks. Brooks is just ginormous!
Asa was a little sad so Brooks and Aiden were trying to comfort him. Aiden was holding Asa's hand right before I took this picture- it was so cute!
Annie had Asa in his little bouncy chair watching Baby Einstein so I thought I would put Brooks in the one that was next to him... yeah this is what happened.
As soon as I put him in it the bouncy seat went all the way back and was like an inch from the floor. It was like he was laying down. I guess he's a little on the heavy side :)
Anyway, thanks girls, it was so much fun to see you and your cute boys and I hope we can do it again soon!

Brooks' Blessing
We finally blessed Brooks yesterday. I was so nervous that he was going to be super fussy during the blessing but he didn't make a peep the whole time. He was much much worse before the blessing! On a side note: he has been sick with ear infections and so the doctor put him on Amoxicillin. Ever since he has started taking it he has been spitting up and has had diarrhea like crazy(sorry that is probably too much info). As soon as we got to church and sat down he projectile vomited EVERYWHERE! I'm not kidding, I've never seen that much throw-up come out of something so small. It was like a fountain! It got all over his pants, all over my sweater and skirt and in my hair, all down the arm of Brandon's suit and all over the seat of the pew. It was so gross and embarassing. But after that he was just happy as can be. Brandon did such a good job with the blessing. It was so nice to have most of our family there too. Other than all three of us having pukey clothes, it was a great day. Here are a few pictures:
