Christmas Q & A

My friend Annie had these questions on her blog and I thought it would be fun to answer them myself since it's almost Christmas and all. Plus, I'm just really bored at work. So, here goes...
1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Hot chocolate! I love Stephen's Mint Truffle.
2. Does Santa wrap the presents or just sit them under the tree? I guess it depends on how big they are... but he usually wraps them. Un-wrapping presents is the funnest part!
3. Colored or white lights? I like both. Colored lights are more fun but white lights are very pretty. We have white lights on our tree.
4. Do you hang mistletoe? No. We figure we don't need mistletoe to kiss a lot :)
5. When do you put your decorations up? Usually after Thanksgiving- we were a little late this year though.
6. What is your favorite holiday dish? My sister Jamie's cheesy potatoes and any kind of holiday candy or dessert. I pretty much just like to eat.
7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? My favorite memories of Christmas are just of my family being all together. Opening presents at my grandparents house and eating yummy food.
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I honestly don't remember.I think as I got older I just kind of figured it out on my own.
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Yes, we always get to choose one present to open. It's usually Christmas pajamas.
10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? With lights, ornaments, and a star on top...how else?
11. Snow: Love it or hate it? Both. I love to play in it but I HATE driving in it!
12. Can you ice skate? Somewhat. When I was little I was amazing!
13. Do you remember your favorite gift? My first "big-girl" bike. It was a pink 10-speed Schwinn and it was beautiful!
14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Remembering the birth of our Savior and spending time with family and friends.
15. What is your favorite holiday dessert? My Christmas tree shaped sugar cookies and Pumpkin Cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory!
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? We really didn't have a lot of traditions growing up- but I'm excited to create some with my new husband and our future family.
17. Which do you like best giving or receiving? They are both fun but there is nothing better than coming up with and giving the perfect gift.
18. What is your favorite Christmas Song? It's a tie between O Holy Night and The Christmas Song.
19. Do you like candy canes? Yes, but not a lot.
20. Favorite holiday movie? That's a tough one. Probably The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. Although I also love Home Alone, A Christmas Story, The Elf, and Christmas Vacation... :)

Halloween

I know it's now December and Halloween was almost two months ago but I had to post some pictures of my nieces and nephews from Halloween- these are only a few of them (there are a ton of kids in the Christensen family). I love all of them and I am so glad that I am finally officially their aunt!

Glenn Beck and Ruby Tuesday

Brandon and I were able to go to the Glenn Beck Christmas Show on Saturday night with Brandon's brothers Jared and Corbin. For those of you who don't know who Glenn Beck is, he's a conservative political radio host who also happens to be an LDS convert. He's hilarious but it was a pretty funny night all around. Before the show the four of us went to dinner at Ruby Tuesday. We had just finished our meal when Jared decided he would go to the bathroom before we left for the E-Center. Brandon, Corbin, and I were talking and we didn't realize just how long Jared was gone. All of a sudden he comes to the table just shaking and laughing and he kept saying "we gotta get out of here". The three of us were wondering what the heck he had done but he waited until we were outside to tell us about his eventful trip to the bathroom. This is the story: so he's sitting in his little stall... doing his business when all of the sudden he hears the door open and the "click, click, click" of high heels on the floor. It suddenly dawns on him that men don't usually wear high heels and also that he didn't see any urinals on his way in... and yes, he realizes he is in the girls bathroom! He said he immediatley lifted his feet off the floor and leaned forward up against the door so the women couldn't see him through the crack of the door. And he sat like this for about 10-15 mintues because suddenly there was this huge rush of women coming in to use the bathroom. He was mortified! He just had to wait there until all the ladies had either left or were in a stall and then he just ran out with his head down- seriously the funniest thing ever! It's definately something that he will never live down. Anyway, Glenn Beck's show was pretty good but the best part was that after the Christmas show was over he taped another "show" of him telling his conversion story. I guess people have been asking him to do it for a long time and he decided to do it that night. So we got to hear him basically tell his life story and how he came to find the church and hear him bear his testimony. If you haven't heard it, you should look it up on the internet because it is really inspiring. It was a really neat experience to hear such an amazing story firsthand. All in all, it was a fun (and very funny) night with Brandon and his brothers!

Our First Blog

So alot of my friends have started blogs for their families and it seemed like such a fun idea. I'm not good at keeping a journal so I thought this could be a good alternative. Brandon and I got married almost three months ago on September 15th in the Mount Timpanogos Temple after dating for two and half years. It was pretty much the greatest day ever and one that I never thought would come! For all of you who know us, you know what I mean! It was a very low-key wedding. Neither of us wanted a reception so instead we just did a luncheon for all of our family and close friends after the ceremony at Thanksgiving Point. It turned out exactly how we wanted it to. It was so much fun being there with everyone we love, it was the perfect day!!
